Paint Colors For Master Bedrooms And How to Install Crown Molding For the Finishing Touch
A master bedroom can be a tricky room to paint. You want the room to reflect your personality, not look too tiny and also leave you with a warm comforting feel. Unless you have a ton of time on your hands and money to burn, you will want to make sure you choose wisely the first time to avoid any problems.
The following are a few tips that you can use to help you find the perfect tone for your sanctuary and how to install crown molding yourself to save money.
Evaluate the size of your master bedroom. Not all master bedrooms are huge. If you have a modest sized room that you would like to look larger than it is, choosing a light tone or an off white will make it appear more spacious than it is. Always remember to paint your ceiling with the same tone of paint as it will expand the over all look.
The master bedroom is the place where you can relax and shed all of your worries. A haven where you can rest and unwind. Since colors bring out feelings within you, you will need to make sure you find the right cool shade that will create a serene atmosphere and set the right mood. Blue, green,lavender or creamy neutral hues are the perfect options for your master bedroom.
If you think that lighter hues are not your thing and you would like a splash of color without painting the walls a darker hue, you can always choose colorful accent pieces. You can add some eye catching throw pillows in your favorite color, bedding, and assorted wall decor. In this way you can mix and match until you find the right feel you are comfortable with. Colored lights also give you the benefit of changing what is a neutral, cool room by day into a haven that is warm and sensual at night for only a few dollars.
After you choose your color you will want to get some trim white to paint your crown molding with. I know that crown molding can be expensive but not as bad if you learn to cut and install it yourself. the trim work can add character to your master bedroom. You will need to find a friend who already knows how to install crown molding or buy a how to book.The main thing that you do not want to do is have a lot of wrong cuts as this can get expensive quick.
Another thing to consider when choosing the right color for your master bedroom is the style of furniture and the amount of items within the room. If you have older ancient furniture that is often bigger than the average furniture or modern times, you may want to stick to more of a neutral beige or tan color to keep from feeling over powered or smothered in the room. The darker the furniture, the lighter the shade of color on the walls. If you have wicker furniture metal, or bamboo, you may want to go with a light burnt orange or yellow to create a warm tropical feel for your room.
When visiting your friends or neighbors, take notice of the little odds and ends they have that add originality and charisma to their place of solitude. Take a browse through design magazines when sitting in a doctors office, a checkout line, or any place that may have magazines with ideas. Watch a few shows on TV such as “Sell this House”, “While You Were Out” or other specialty design shows that will give you ideas or even walk you through the steps to do a complete makeover.
