Microsoft Excel is a great tool for keeping track of your checking account balances and transactions. Many people though still use the traditional checkbook register or a computer program such as Microsoft Money or Quicken QuickBooks. While the above programs are provided more in the way of budgeting and mapping, I think the use of Excel to customize more and classification of data.
First, within or below this article I will include a Excel sample checkbook register (or a link to it) you can use to experience, or even use as a checkbook register. It would be best if you can access this file before reading further. I began this creation simply building an Excel worksheet that looked like a checkbook register, with all or columns you want. I have two columns for the sums, one for the transaction amount and one for the new balance. However, with Excel, you can insert a formula in the column of "balance" so your new balance is automatically calculated. The formula would be the cell of the previous balance 'in my sample' F3 ', plus the amount of the transaction next ( "E4"). The formula is = (F3 + E4). Note that you will always be '+', to enter into and withdrawn '– $ 50.00 (note negative'-'). You only need to enter this formula once and then copy and paste into the cells below. Excel will automatically adjust the formula for the placement of the cell (s) that you paste into.

This is no easy way to save money similar to an envelope system, without envelopes. R3 transaction "in my example is a deposit of $ 250. However, it divides five categories. Note that the balances are held separately at the bottom (using a simple SUM function) and when you use your account, simply use the funds in the column "General". You need to have the discipline to see the 'General' equilibrium real balance their checking account to avoid the use of appropriated funds. When you need to use endowment funds "specific, simply conclude that the operation of the corresponding column instead of the column "General". An additional benefit added to this feature is that the sub-account balances are a cushion for the general account.
