Things You'll Need: 2 meters of 44 inch fabric matching thread 8 to 10 soft buttons tape Iron Ironing press fabric Straight pins Sewing machine folds the step 1 – cut a strip of fabric 4 inches wide off the floor (long) edge of the fabric. This will be used for the waist. Step 2 – Cut the fabric in half, parallel to the selvages. (Seams are often finished edges are white and have the name of the fabric printed on them.) Step 3 – Place the two sections of fabric right sides together and join them along one short edge. Press seam open. Step 4 – Hem the bottom edge of the fabric through the folded edge 1 / 4 inch toward the wrong side and pressing the flat top. Fold the edge 1 / 2 inch to the wrong side and press flat. Stitching along the edge of the lid. Step 5 – Decide how wide you want the pleats (you may need to experiment with different folds to see what looks good). Fold the fabric across the width you want the fold, starting with the area around the seam to ensure that the seam is hidden beneath a fold. Measure each fold of precise folds, or judge by the eye of simplification, folds, but less perfect. Step 6 – Firmly press each fold with a hot iron and a damp cloth. Step 7 – Pin the pleats in place along the top of the fabric. Set the sewing machine to the longest stitch. Suffice it through folds, 1 / 4 inch from the top of the fabric. Sew the skirt Step 1 – Measure the fullest part of your hips. Cut the fabric pleated so that is about 3 inches wider than this measurement. Step 2 – Fold each end under 1 / 2 inches (if not already folded into a fold) and press the flat top. Stitching along each fold. Step 3 – Cut a strip belt fabric 3 1 / 2 inches wide and 3 1 / 2 inches longer than the waist. Fold each short end of the waist 1 / 2 inch to the wrong side of the fabric and press the folds flat. Step 4 – Fold the waistband in half wrong sides together and press flat. Stitching at the ends below the waist. Step 5 – Put the belt down on the top of the foot, aligning the raw edge of the upper waist of the skirt. Step 6 – Pin the waist instead. If the skirt is wider than the waist, can provide additional tissue folds making little bit between each fold. Step 7 – sew the waistband to the skirt with 1 / 2 inch seam. Step 8 – Add eyelets at one end of the skirt and the buttons on the other, making sure to align the buttons and buttonholes. To use the skirt, the overlap of the open edges and the button in place.
