Netbooks are everywhere, on buses, trains, planes … and in the classroom. Apparently the little netbook has come from nowhere to become extremely popular during night.
But what is a netbook?
Laptops usually have screens of 10 inches or less are running Windows or Linux and generally sell for under $ 500. As its name implies, the netbook main purpose is to keep your owner conveniently connected to the network – anywhere, anytime.
ASUS introduced first when it launched the first Eee PC in autumn 2007. But it was only last year when we saw the explosive growth of so-called mini-laptops. We have lots of computer companies like HP, Dell, Lenovo … all jumping into this madness by a small laptop. Both much so that netbooks now is the fastest growing segment of the notebook computer industry and is expected to reach 139 million units in 2013.
Why is there sudden popularity for small netbook? Perhaps the answer lies primarily in our constant quest for mobility. We want a device laptop will keep us connected to the Internet and yet be small and light enough to be carried around all day. A true ultra-portable device that keeps us connected with family, friends and the web.
The next question to ask, why make for great student laptops netbooks? If the reasons are not enough, try the following:
Size
Netbooks are small screens 10 inches or less, making them ideal for students. Furthermore, it can be very lightweight – about 2 or 3 pounds. They are compact enough to stuff in your school bag or backpack, and sufficiently small to carry all day without developing a hernia.
Portability
As mentioned above, because the netbook is so small and compact, very portable. A highly mobile device we can use to stay connected to the web and friends. Connectivity is one of the main features — You are connected to the network at all times.
Robustness
Most netbooks are designed to be robust and resilient. You can take a tough few hits and still work. Students are not exactly the sweetest creatures on the planet, so it lasts a robust machine is needed to handle the demands placed on it.
Battery
Due to its small size, generally have better battery life than with a regular sized laptop. This is important because the student may have to go all day without the possibility of recharging the battery. Long duration the battery lasts netbook makes the perfect student laptop.
Performance
Although small, these mini-notebooks still sports some very impressive specifications. Currently, many come with at least 1GB of RAM and Intel Atom. There are even some with solid state hard drives than makes them more durable and less prone to damage. Most use Windows XP – new models that debuted this year with the Nvidia platform can have Vista or Ion Windows 7, but do not expect the kind of performance you would get a normal laptop.
Storage
While in storage netbooks is constantly increasing, is still far from the type of storage is in a regular sized laptop. In general, most devices have about 30 or 60 Gig hard drives that should be adequate for the needs of most students. Many new netbooks have 160 gigabytes of storage.
Price
Perhaps the main reason laptops netbooks perfect student is the lowest price. Students are usually in a very limited budget and the low price-tag is a perfect fit. Many machines are perfectly adequate, priced at $ 300 to $ 500 range – while a lot of good going for less than $ 300. Furthermore, prices are falling steadily as almost any student can now afford a netbook.
As you can see clearly, the netbook has many features to make a perfect student laptop: small size, very portable, excellent connections, very robust, battery long-term good performance, proper storage and, above all, a very affordable price, almost any student can take. In general, the netbooks are ideal classroom and student.
