failed to find the thread – the nugget of gold – which makes it a great book, I finally gave up. From now on I'll just enjoy the novel. However, I will share some of my impressions.
Stendhal, The Red and Black is considered a classic, but found no great tragedy, drama, profound ideas, or exciting adventures of all kinds. So why is it that whenever I read it I find something new – something fresh – about it?
So what is the eternal charm of Red and Black?
By the standards Today, the sex scenes in the book are absent; imagine the main character – Julien Sorel – Spend hours, days and nights if he asks must reach, grasp and shake hands with women or not. The action is also lacking. No adventures of swashbuckling. However, the novel is hot!
First, I must say that the psychological aspect of the book. In this pre-Freudian novel, we see the forces of the unconscious – the libido, drives the instincts, clamps, drives, obsessions, passions and hobbies – choke on characters. Most importantly, we have a fairly good understanding the unbearable, incomparable and uncompromising Julien Sorel. We now have a good understanding of the young daughter Matilda The Mole pampered rich, particularly in importance: the lady of the naive and sexually inexperienced. Kidney. These three characters form the fateful triangle convicted.
But I must admit it is a romance plot, a plot that is not resolved until the end of the novel, with the horrible death of a character, and whose well-deserved, I can not reveal here.
Bearing in mind the time (the Napoleonic era) in establishing the history of scenes seduction is more psychological than real. These are the maximum and minimum of mood swings, agreements and disagreements, the strengths and weaknesses of a characters.
And as the tragedies of Shakespeare, where we laugh at the jokes of clowns "rather than bemoan the penalties of players, with the antics of Julian laughed, but we also mourn for him.
If you like weird, you can also find here. One of my favorite passages in the novel where the hero, Julien Sorel, use a scale, not just a river terraces and Ford to negotiate, but to download and MS. Renal Cabinet. The ladder of success becomes a symbol not only of social mobility, but self-enlightenment, Julian finally know you better. We found the image of the ladder in the Bible (Jacob), the Republic of Plato, Wittgenstein, as in many other writers, so that we can say that Stendhal knew what he was doing when he chose this tool.
The Red and Black is a novel that will not disappear ever, who never ages, and reading and rereading the last few years. Again, what is the secret behind this? It is impossible to say – Just enjoy it! Eric Auerbach, a great critic, tried to get to the bottom of things, with his famous analysis entitled: "In the Hotel de La Mole" of his book also famous Mimesis, but without success.
And that's fine with me, so that future generations will continue to enjoy reading without anyone to spoil them.
I, however, have a theory on the perennial attraction of the novel like Don Quixote, Tarzan Jay Gatsby, and are very Golightly prototypes, so it's Julien Sorel. When an author invents a prototype of fiction, the novel achieved immortality. And woe those authors whose characters fall a notch below prototypes – the oblivion that awaits you!

Interesting question, sir! Rocky, of course, defeated Jersey Joe Walcott for the title and gave a return match at 53, beat the candidate of choice LaStarza in 11 laps and then fought two brutal fights with former champion Ezzard Charles, who was still a world class fighter and contender at the time. 55 Nino Valdez In a sense Cuba has emerged as a candidate # 1, but his luck was derailed when the "Ol Mongoose Archie Moore beat. Archie has also beaten contenders Bob Baker, Harold Johnson and Jimmy Valdez Slade and replaced as the main contenders for the crown of Marciano. Of course, Rocky beat Archie in 9 rounds. Tommy "Hurricane" Jackson was considered for a shot at 56 with young Floyd Patterson. Rocky had back problems, family pressure to withdraw, and a deterioration relationship with your manager to hang up his gloves and remain unbeaten at the top of their game. Rocky never avoided one of the best black fighters of his day all and that is a fact.
