What is pink eye?

Conjunctivitis, or pinkeye, is an inflammation of the conjunctiva, the transparent membrane covering worse than it is. While the redness increases may be very pronounced, very rarely causes conjunctivitis visual long-term damage. What are the symptoms of conjunctivitis?
