How do I get rid of the smell of mothballs from my "new bag" vintage white leather?
Both the lining and the skin really smell – Will I use disappear or something? Tho Stock otherwise impeccable very old and unused!
This process works well to absorb most odors like balls of mothballs, smoke, musty odors, etc. You will need: A plastic container with lid, like a cheap paper tray Rubbermaid Spread a cat litter layer of sand at the bottom of the box. Place a layer of newspaper on top of the trash and put the smelly issue at the top of the newspaper. Close cover and let stand for a couple of days. The litter absorbs odor. You may have to replace the litter with fresh litter and repeat the process a few times. Make sure your portfolio is open. And, as someone suggested a well-polished leather can be applied.
