I think there's a natural curiosity about famous people. What are you doing?, Occupation?, Going to go?, Feuding with?, Etc I wonder who the most famous were green. So, I began to discover that among the Hollywood elite is doing something good for the environment. There are very few, so I'm going with the top three. This is what I found …
In recent years, Leonardo DiCaprio has always been the number one pick of the greener grass on the world of celebrity. His documentary The Eleventh Hour, despite receiving Luke warm reviews, DiCaprio shows passion for sustainable living. His winery, although the position number one has led, I fear.
Always in the top 5 green Celebrities, Brad Pitt has the number 1 this year. He has made many contributions to the planet a little greener. His association with Global Green USA which has a large construction project in New Orleans to build greener, the cost effectiveness of schools, is just one of his many "irons in the fire." In 2006, he hosted a PBS series called Design: e2, encompassing not only design technology, but other issues of environmental awareness. In 2007, he and his wife Angelina Jolie, bought an eco-paradise of a winery in southern France. Naturally, the olives, the winery is 100% organic and has, vegetables and herbs as well. And most recently, Mr. Pitt met with President Obama this month to discuss the Make It Right Foundation (charity, founded in 2007) and continuing efforts to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Leonardo did take second? No! It's Daryl Hannah. Their commitment with biodiesel fuels is exampled by their personal vehicles. She is a spokesperson for the Development of Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance and actively speaks against damage to the oil industry makes to the Amazon. It also tells of the eco-friendly films (in their spare time). Wow! Busy lady. Good job, Ms. Hannah!
Finally, Leonardo DiCaprio. It has done so much for environmental causes worldwide. His achievements include the production of Greensburg Planet Green and the eleventh hour. He founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which works with other organizations to increase environmental awareness of environmental issues. It also supports various charities such as Global Cool eco-friendly, Global Green, Reef Check Foundation (for which he is Honorary President), Stop Global Warming, and people tree.
It's good to know that a few-Listers support sustainable livelihoods. I post highlight the achievements of a few, but congratulations to Cameron Diaz, Ed Begley, Jr., George Clooney, Matt Damon, Edward Norton, Adrian Grenier, Cate Blanchett, Bono, Robert Redford, Amitabh Bachchan, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Stella McCartney, Willie Nelson, Salma Hayek, Sting, Penelope Cruz, Orlando Bloom, Julia Roberts, Jamie Oliver, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sheryl Crow, and Cindy Crawford. Thank you all. He lends his celebrity status to worthwhile causes deserve the applause of everyone.
