Embroidery is a traditional Chinese folk industrial arts styles, is an integral part in the popular culture of China. Qiang folk embroidery art is the image carrier of culture Qiang nation, is a direct and aesthetic symbolic performance of customs and lifestyles of the minority nation with a long history.
Qiang people's folk embroidery art has passed from generation to generation for their own traditional folk style, rich in humor and sophisticated exotic art that combines practicality and beauty in one, it's one of those favorite items used to decorate and embellish life.
At the founding of new China, the art of the people Qiang people develop and become more attractive and dazzling. In July 1959, embroidered belt created by Mrs. Wang Yuhua named "Happiness of the Ocean" in Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province, was sent to the city of Chengdu to attend the Industrial Exhibition of Art of the State and won first prize.
Containing simple and rich ancient rustic flavors and superb art, costumes 1978 popular Qiang people won many national academic reputation at home and abroad. Later that same year, the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan's popular clothing purchased Qiang nation for the collection.
In 1980, the carpets produced by factories in Aba county were exported to the United States, Canada, India, Nepal, Philippines and other countries, therefore Qiang national popular folk art won wide reputations and praises.
For the Ming and Qing Dynasties, embroidery has become very popular in the region Qiang minority. The embroidery art of Qiang nation has 16 different embroidery stitches, you choose your embroidery, 'Nahua Embroidery', fine flower embroidery, embroidery closure of the chain, complete relief embroidery, embroidered jacquard, embroidered appliques, embroidery, crochet and hand embroidery mainly.
Among them embroidery is the favorite choice of most art practices used by Qiang nation women. The embroidery collect images taken from the reality of life in nature, like flowers, birds, fish, animals, etc., that are familiar in everyday life of people. These natural beings full of rich spirits biological ability through selection of embroidery processing, have been created in various color patterns and images, which mainly symbolizes blessings people of auspicious fortune, fine aspirations for bright future, as "flowers and lots of Brocades", "Harmony in water and fish "" Flying in Peony Phoenix.
