If you want to eat fruit in 3-5 days, then you have to buy green.

Conservation Bananas

Bananas are fragile and need be stored properly. If you purchased your bananas in a cellophane bag for packaging, you must remove the wrapper as soon as possible. You want to avoid storage in the refrigerator, as it helps speed up the ripening process. I hang bananas from a banana timber to prevent of being beaten.

You can freeze bananas, because they keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Here are 2 ways you can freeze them.

1. Freeze the shells in a bag and zip close.

2. Out of their shell and sprinkle with a little lemon juice to prevent browning, then put them in a bag zip.

You can do a lot with bananas, in addition to simply use them for a healthy snack. Here are 2 of my favorite recipes.

Banana Mango Smoothie

1 C. cubed peeled ripe mango
3 / 4 cup sliced ripe banana
2 / 3 C. milk
1 tsp Tea. honey
1 / 4 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender and a set until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses Serve immediately.

Banana Bread

1 tsp sugar
2 C. flour
1 tsp Tea. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 C. shortening
2 eggs, well beaten
1 / 2 c. sour milk
3 bananas, mashed

Combine all ingredients in large bowl until smooth. Pour the mixture into a lightly greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
