Like many people, I hate abbreviations and positive resist new language that only the author understands, but in fact I have never felt disadvantaged or threatened as buyer or seller, when a new word "enters dictionary unwritten eBay. That's because few vendors use unfamiliar abbreviations or contractions and words use even less than anyone, but does understand.
Obviously, it is prudent to use uncommon abbreviations in your eBay listing, especially in the title, except as permitted by the extra space. However, the abbreviations are tempting, especially newcomers who consider them perfect to force the title to generate lot of traffic from search engines on eBay.
But who in their right mind would search eBay for "Jersey BNIB, BW, PNN, FB 100%. "
The word is only viable search engine friendly that the title is "shirt", the rest would be better discarded and replaced with something like: "1960 striped man B & W Pop Art Carnaby Street in London" Did you recognize the first title as a representative a rare piece of memorabilia from the old pop music?
So think long and hard, and always think twice before using any abbreviated title or list, or you could end up confusing and alienating potential bidders and seriously reduce the value of their products for resale.
